Seven nights on the Mekong River, with Angkor Wat at sunrise to finish

Begin in vibrant Ho Chi Minh City with two nights downtown, a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels and a classic pho lunch. Board the Emerald Harmony and sail the busy Cho Gao canal into the Mekong Delta, visiting floating communities, fruit and honey farms, the riverside town of Sa Đéc and “Mango Island” by motorcycle rickshaw. Cross into Cambodia for Phnom Penh's Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, a moving visit to the Killing Fields and a Buddhist blessing at Oudong Monastery. Finish with three nights at the Shinta Mani in Siem Reap, with Angkor Thom, jungle-wrapped Ta Prohm and a sunrise over Angkor Wat. This morning, cruise the bustling Cho Gao canal, one of Vietnam's major arterial canals, connecting Tien Giang Province in the Mekong Delta with Ho Chi Minh City — watch the heavy commercial traffic, with upwards of 1,800 vessels passing each day. Once on the Mekong River, visit the Tan My floating community, then ride through local plantations to a mushroom farm, a fruit farm with sampling and a honey farm with local sweets. Later, sail on to Sa Đéc, a hidden gem of the Mekong Delta. Meals: B, L, D
